Perhaps you are supporting a candidate or seeking a position in an upcoming election? Whatever the case, if you or your organization is planning to place temporary signs in the Township, there are a few regulations that must be followed to ensure your time and money are not spent in vain. Please consider these questions and review the Code requirements here before installing your temporary signs.

Can I place my temporary sign in the Route 52 Roundabout? No, temporary signs may not be placed in the grassed island or approaches of the roundabout as this area is part of the public road right-of-way. In fact, temporary signs are not permitted within any public road right-of-way in the Township. A good rule of thumb is to provide at least 12 feet from the edge of the road before placing your sign.

Do I need to obtain a permit before placing my temporary signs? It depends. Political candidate signs, referendum or similar signs for an upcoming election do not require a permit. • A permit is required for signs advertising an event, sale, registration or similar activities for governmental, historic, or other non-profit organizations, including schools.

Can I place temporary signs advertising my business? Contractor or artisan signs are permitted, but only one sign may be placed on the property and must be removed upon completion of the work.
