We are contacting you about an upcoming project occurring in Bradford Township and Pocopson Townships that will enhance the local electric distribution system. This project is a $1.1 million infrastructure investment in your area to help withstand more frequent and damaging storms, improve reliability by reducing the frequency of outages that cannot be prevented, and support the adoption of cleaner energy resources such as solar and electric vehicles.
About the project:
•
We recently reviewed the electric service reliability in your neighborhood and noted you have experienced multiple interruptions, so we are taking steps to improve your service reliability and reduce the number of power outages you experience.
•
We will be upgrading and installing new, innovative equipment, including new poles and tree-resistant aerial wires.
•
Advanced devices will be installed that can stop the flow of electricity if a problem occurs and automatically restore electricity where possible.
What you’ll see during this project:
•
We anticipate that tree removals and tree trimming work will be required.
•
Work will occur along Wawaset Rd, Bridge Rd, Avery Pl, Carolannes Way, Lenape Rd, and Creek Rd.
•
All work will be performed by PECO crews and qualified PECO contractors.
•
We have developed a plan to minimize direct customer impact as much as possible and to complete the project in a safe and timely manner.
During the next few weeks, qualified PECO contractor Davey Resource Group will be in your area surveying the necessary tree work. If there is required tree work on your property, we will contact you directly to review the plan in-person.
Tree work is anticipated to begin mid-March 2025 and is expected to be completed in May 2025. Work on electrical equipment, including poles and wires, is scheduled to start once tree work is complete. The project is expected to be completed in December 2025.
Crews may need to temporarily interrupt electric service to safely complete some of this work. We will work with customers to ensure they are informed in advance of our activities and any planned interruptions. To ensure you receive all outage updates, please confirm that your phone number is accurate in our system through MyAccount at peco.com/myaccount or by calling PECO at 1-800-494-4000.
