Pocopson Township is proud to join communities across the Commonwealth in celebrating Pennsylvania Local Government Week, observed from April 14 to 18, 2025. This week, officially recognized by the Pennsylvania General Assembly through House Resolution 118, honors the essential role of local governments in delivering vital services and fostering community well-being.

As a township of the second class, Pocopson Township is governed by a three-member Board of Supervisors who have the responsibility for local legislative authority, public safety coordination, environmental stewardship, land use planning and road maintenance, amongst others. The Board of Supervisors are elected to serve 6-year staggered terms. The Board of Supervisors is supported by a dedicated Township staff which provides day-to-day support to the residents of Pocopson. The Township Staff is managed by the Township Manager, which is a new role for the Township.

During Local Government Week and beyond, Pocopson Township encourages residents to engage with their local government officials, attend public meetings, and learn more about the services that impact their daily lives. The township’s official website, pocopson.org, offers information on upcoming meetings, community initiatives, and opportunities for civic involvement, which includes opportunities to serve on various Township committees. We thank all our volunteers, both current and past, for their hard work and dedication in their roles.

Pocopson Township remains committed to transparency, responsiveness, and collaboration, striving to enhance the quality of life for all residents. We invite community members to participate in Township activities and to continue engaging in township affairs throughout the year. If there is ever a need that arises, please reach out to the Township Office at 610-793-2151 or via email at nvaughn@pocopson.org.
