Good afternoon, Pocopson. Here we go again! Here are some important reminders regarding the impending winter storm.

– Do not park vehicles along Township roads or in cul-de-sacs.
– Avoid unnecessary travel. If you must drive, use caution, stay at least six car lengths back from snowplows, and keep an emergency kit in your vehicle that includes a flashlight, blankets, food, and water.
– Do not push or pile snow onto roadways.
– Remove portable basketball hoops, trash cans, and other items from roadways and shoulders.
– Maintain a minimum 3-foot clearance around fire hydrants to allow for emergency access.

Wind and heavy snow may result in power outages throughout the region. Please contact your electric provider—not 9-1-1—to report outages. To report downed power lines or outages to PECO, visit peco.com/outages or call 1-800-841-4141.

Comprehensive information on preparing for snowstorms and cold weather is available at ready.gov/winter. If you need local services for medical assistance, temporary shelter, or food, please call 2-1-1 or visit chesco.org/cold.

With approximately 40 miles of roadways to treat and plow, it may take some time to clear all streets. Crews will continue working throughout the storm and afterward to ensure roadways are safely cleared. We appreciate your patience.

Township staff will be monitoring emails during the storm. If you have any urgent needs, please email Township Manager Neil D. Vaughn at nvaughn@pocopson.org, and your message will be promptly directed to the appropriate personnel.

Please stay safe, and do not hesitate to reach out if you have urgent concerns.
